Hey Folks,

I remember a while ago Redhat released an "industrial strength" Database
package as part of their Enterprise offerings, at I think it was a full
distro with PostgreSQL as the DB (presumably to compete with some of the
bigger players in the database world). If my memory serves me it was also
about $1000 for the box and support package and was apparently packed full
of well their own featured (GUI) database administration tools. The
screenshots at the time were certainly impressive.

Anyway it would seem that the project has been re-focused and is now
available for free D/L etc. ...woo hooo!

For anyone interested, the project page is as follows:
http://www.redhat.com/download/rhdb2.html

The Quick and dirty Download page is:
http://sources.redhat.com/rhdb/

If anyone has taken this out for a spin yet, I'd be interested in any
feedback. On a side note, I certainly hope they aren't doing to PostgreSQL
what they did to KDE with BlueCrud!

anyway, enjoy!

Marcel
