First off, it's Canadian. It's also based on the former Corel Distro (Debian based), which was also Canadian.
Apparently it is a very capable Desktop Distro. I've heard good things about it, and read good reviews about it too. However, you need to pay to play because of some proprietary stuff in it like CodeWeavers Crossover which is what lets you run MS-Office/explorer apps natively via WINE. It looks like they're working on a server distro, but I haven't heard anything about that yet though.
