Was watching a bit of "Daily Discovery" (think that's it...show on Discovery Channel) and the host was talking about a network operations guy in Virginia who loves 80's arcade games. He had a bunch the cabinets and starting thinking about building the ultimate arcade game.
He took a old Millipede cabinet, with a Dell mobo, processor and stuff, M.A.M.E. (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulation) to run about 30 different games. He also adapted the keypad with a stink load of buttons, dials and what have you to allow each thing to operate the games. What makes this story Linux related, is that the host mentioned that the software can be downloaded for free and is programmed by a group of programmers. He also mentioned that the operating system was Linux and the guy had a stuffed Tux on his desk. They didn't really mention the term "open source" or delve much into what Linux does, but I still think it is somewhat encouraging that FLOSS is getting some airtime on popular shows. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
