in /etc/fstab, one of the options for /boot on your system is noauto.  
        Don't automatically mount.

If it isn't Gentoo, it doesn't matter.  I don't understand why it's taking so 
long for all the legacy LSB distros to come around...  :)

Course, my main server is blowed up right now 'cause PAM won't let Root log 
into a command line.  Strangely, I can authenticate through both cups and 
samba as root however...  I think it's due to playing with ldap, and then 
trying to back out.  Whatever, it could certainly be worse...
