First of all, welcome to clug and the world of Linux. While to date, we haven't had anything specifically for newbies, many of the things we do are geared towards new users. If you have any questions regarding Linux, don't hesitate to post them to the list, as many people, including myself will be happy to help out where we can. We alse have an irc channel (#clug on irc.debian.org). In addition there is a newbie website at http://nube.clug.ca/ which was written for people who are new to Linux. Installfests (like the one last Sat.) can also be very helpful to new users as you can bring down your computer and get someone to help you install or tweak Linux. I would also suggest checking out the meetings as there are lots of presentations geared towards newbies, although it is kind of a craps shoot because there are also presentations geared towards sysadmins, developers, etc. Of course I figure it cannnot hurt to learn more ;-).
