Hey Aaron,

Thanks for your response. For a non-programmer installing new software can be
a freaking nightmare. I've been using Slackware for many years, but now, after
spending (again!) a few evenings attempting to install one piece of software,
I got frustrated and really started to look for alternatives. The easy choice
was to use a Windows-alike distribution, where prebuilt packages can be
installed from a gui-based manager, but this is too easy and not fun ;) So I
decided to try installing Gentoo. The setup procedure looked intimidating (60
pages long), but after a few hours (mostly compiling time), I had the system
up and running. Emerge is _very_ impressing. The 2.6 Kernel is stable on my
nForce2 board. Life is good again.
