Got Eclipse and a cluster of docs. dled jre from java. Since i am on mdk 9.1, mdk has some sort of java capability, kaffin, but that did not do for eclipse.
It took me bout 15 minutes to unpack the sun jre into the eclipse/jre directory, and then i could run it. They should have put this in the README file, it was not trivial for a beginner.
Then i went on from that point to write my hello world proggy. Very intresting. It is so slow, i wonder what keeps it awake.
Cheers

Download the latest jdk from blackdown.org
http://www.blackdown.org/java-linux/java-linux-d2.html
Better than Sun's JDK.
