I have tried numerous Linux distributions on my Gateway 9500 Solo
laptop. At times, I've even had the wireless card (Netgear MA401)
working. One of the easier distributions to set up on this laptop is
SUSE 9.1 With SUSE, the wireless card was fairly simple to set up.
Unfortunately, there seems to be some incompatibility with SUSE and
the laptop. It freezes up after several minutes of use in graphical
mode. This doesn't seem to be an issue in text mode. The same laptop
successfully ran Windows and Red Hat 7.1 for 2 years with no problems.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the freeze up
syndrome with SUSE? Thanks, Jim
