I know SUSE disables things like libdvdcss and its easy to fix that, I never had any problem with mp3. I have just started playing with Amarok and some of the features like lyric download/upload are geat fun. Once I fixed the css problem I use Kaffeine for most stuff, though I recently realised how to use alternate install sources in Yast and got Mplayer working which does give me access to some of the more proprietary stuff on the net.
