In addition, there are severl books on Game Programming.  Some are even 
specifically for Linux.  I'll bring my collection tonight and let you choose 
which you might be interested in borrowing.  It's going to be a while before I 
have a chance to read these the way I'd like.

One problem I see with Game Programming in general is that almost EVERY 
resource immediately talks about graphics or sound programming.  Sure, this is 
important, but misses the fundamental processes.  On the other hand, looking 
for graphics programming can lead you directly into game programming as well.  
So, doing a search for "SDL" or "OpenGL" is also a good place to start.
