There might be some confusion between http://family.open2space.com/ and http://www.open2space.com/family/. The latter would require no DNS entry or propagation time. The former, however, MUST have a DNS entry. Any change to DNS has a possible propagation delay. However, in general, a freshly created subdomain should show up immediately unless you tried to access it before it was created.
