I've got this problem on two laptops, but I'll start with the first. It's an Acer Aspire 5715-4740 running Ubuntu 7.10 and windows dual boot. I've made the connection with windows, but when it attempts to connect in Ubuntu, the system freezes.
I've been following the instructions on http://quilombo.wordpress.com/2008/01/09/atheros-ar5006eg-in-ubuntu-710-gutsy-gibbon/ Here's some specs. ~$ lspci | grep Ethernet 05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5906M Fast Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02) 06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5006EG 802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01) I'm using ndisgtk. ifconfig shows I've got a wlan interface: wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr ... UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:19 Memory:54100000-54110000 Any ideas?
