Sounds like you started thinking bout the problem like a programmer - 
like me.. :)  I wanted to see if someone else had already done this 
before I started writing code...

Good call on the icons though.  Didn't even think of that.  Should cover 
most of what I'm looking for for now though.

Simon:  I use the standard terminal server client that comes on Ubuntu. 
  Works well enough, though it does have some quirks to sort out - more 
with saving/loading different profiles though.  But it is only an 
RDP/VNC tool.  That's one (or two - but I don't use VNC) out of many 
connection methods I need.. :)
