I made a typo and wrote iPod instead of iPhone. But this does bring up an issue.
How about we set out to use the WiFi bandwidth and not the expensive phone company bandwidth? We can set up a user's group. Maybe we can call it CLUG. Or CLFP for Calgary Loves Free Phones! How about CLPP for Calgary loves phree phones and we can PP on the phone company! With a small amount of work we can open ports on any residential WiFi link and back haul it. Anyone wanting to join can pay the usual CLUG (or CUUG) membership fee. Is this a worthy project? I have Steven's Advanced Unix Network programming books on my bookshelf and I am a programmer! Also we have the OpenBSD team headquartered here in Calgary. We _can_ do this. I also work with the OpenSSL team and I say we cypher everything!
