This is good. Also Scott shows some brilliant examples of his work on
replacement body parts. (high tech kind)

Low tech: --->
Another totally different example when a doctor in India who designed a
very simple and inexpensive leg that could be made by hand out of
locally available materials (including part of a discarded rubber tire
tread). Not only that, the user could easily sit cross legged, the way
he normally lived. The North American designs were out of reach in price
and solely designed for siting in "our style chair".
Unfortunately I can not yet find a reference to it any more.

File was too big. It's waiting for moderator approval now...

So, grab the presentation file at

I've attached my presentation file (if the list takes it).

There are links to the various 3D Printing websites on the last page of
the presentation. There are also Google Groups/IRC Channels for some of
the specific printers. (a Google search will find those)

The other links I mentioned:

Thingiverse - the place to get open source models for printing.
http://www.thingiverse.com/

GrabCAD - another source for 3D models
http://grabcad.com/

Calgary's Maker Faire - you want to be there! Spread the word! Volunteer!
http://www.makerfaireyyc.ca/

LAN Party - a local event targeting 300ish gamers in one place for 3 days.
http://projectxlan.com/

And finally, I mentioned last night that I'm looking for help in getting
http://make3d.ca set up better. At the moment it's more or less a place
holder. I want to put in a Magento based web store there. Anyone know
enough about Magento to do a quick presentation/mentoring session?

Shawn
