What in zsh is equivalent to $( commands ) in bash?
I will focus the question with a specific. say lsdot - is a script of mine that lists all files in $PWD without extensions for example x but not x.txt in a bash shell ls -lt $(lsdot) # does the ls specified on all files without extensions For example: ls -lt $(lsdot) drwxr-xr-x 6 caziz caziz 12288 Aug 21 19:03 myscripts -rw-r--r-- 1 caziz caziz 251 Aug 21 13:50 x drwxr-xr-x 10 caziz caziz 12288 Aug 18 20:07 Camera drwx------ 6 caziz caziz 20480 Aug 12 16:40 Pictures Thank you.
