I can reproduce this problem in cmake/Tests/iOSNavApp by commenting out the line that sets CMAKE_XCODE_EFFECTIVE_PLATFORMS in the CMakeLists.txt. I think this is a bug. I can report it, but I'm not sure whether I'm actually required to set CMAKE_XCODE_EFFECTIVE_PLATFORMS?
