Hi,

I am trying to add a new Compiler to CMake which compiles and links OpenCL files (file ending .cl). The compiler supports creating dependency files like -MMD. It works with Ninja. But it does not work with Unix Makefiles, because in this case CMake uses its own dependency scanner.

What is the reason that CMake uses its own mechanism with Unix Makefiles instead of relying on the compiler?
Is it possible to configure CMake to use -MMD -MF with Unix Makefiles?
If not, is it possible to tell cmake_depends to understand .cl files?

Best regards,

Jerry
