SET(CMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS "-abcdfg" ) <-- does work for me!
add_executable(foo_target ${FOO_SRC})
SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(foo_target PROPERTIES LINKER_LANGUAGE C)
SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(foo_target PROPERTIES LINK_FLAGS "-abcdfg")
