Mediciad is the only program of that type when there are
no other options.
Some states such as Mississippi are closing down Medicaid
(nearly 70,000
dumped from the rolls so far) and others have similar
plans. The only other
option might be to try the patient assistance program of
each drug company
for all of the drugs being taken. Most drug companies have
a program similar
to that for Gleevec. That might be time consuming but if
accepted would provide
a way to obtain the prescriptions.
