Alexis,
I hope your dad is feeling better soon. Fatigue is also very common,
especially if his blood counts are off. The medicine will also cause
weakness and fatigue, but most time the side effect from the medicine
decrease with time. As much as he can he needs to do a little
exercising each day, it helps with his energy level. I know on the
days I veg out and do nothing I have less energy. The days I get up
and move around I feel better. Since he's on 800mg he could break it
up and take 400mg in the morning and 400mg in the afternoon, that
might help with the nausea and weakness. If his WBC is going back up
it could mean he's no longer responding to the medicine but I would
imagine his onc should be doing more tests to confirm that. If you
feel he is continuing to get worse you might suggest he find the
closest cancer center and get a second opinion. They will have the
most up to date information to help him. Take Care!
