MJ,
Glad to hear your potassium levels are back up. For anyone else following the potassium discussion thread, I watch my potassium levels, mainly because I take Lasix. Last spring when I started phase I of my stem cell harvest, my potassium levels were quite low. Even still, my doctor was reluctant to prescribe supplements, preferring for me to get my potassium through food; banana's, oranges and potatoes which are good sources. If you take diuretics you should also make sure you are getting enough magnesium in your diet. Usually five servings of fruits and vegetables a day (leafy green's like spinach - magnesium rich)can help you keep your levels of magnesium and potassium in the right range. However, if you suffer from bouts of diarrhea (and some of us do with Gleevec), supplements help make up for loss. I do take calcium and magnesium supplements. Hope this helps, Cheers, Cheryl-Anne --- In [email protected], [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Hi Everyone: > > Just a little over a week of prescribed supplements and potassium rich food, > and the potassium level, at 2.8, has climbed to 4.
