Just back home from Houston after jumping through the hoops required by my HMO before I can be approved for a transplant. After speaking with both my transplant onc and my clinical trail onc, I have decided to go the a full allo BMT fight.   Thanks to the Gleevec, I am in much better health since the last time I faced this option.  My sister is an excellent match and is on stand by to donate.  They will be doing what I think is called a Fresh Infusion.     In order to qualify for some of the newest investigative agents, I was told I would have to be clean of all other drugs for several weeks before I can begin a new protocol.   The final decision to go this route was mine, but my oncs were certainly giving me the nod.  I'm packed and ready to go when they call.    Don't know who much posting I will be able to do once they call me in...so I'll just say I'll talk to y'all later.   Best regards dt   "Beware of Armchair Oncologists"     New!
