Tracey is right to advise us that the liver and kidney tests should be done 
regularly. I have had mine done every 3 months for the last 3 years and 
always get copies of the results. My doctor feels that most of the liver 
toxicity 
problems show up before the 8 or 9 month mark. He has hundreds of 
patients on gleevec and is speaking from that experience. That is not to say it 
won't happen later (it has) .. and may increase as we get further on into 
gleevec .. but it is very important to track it early to see how your body is 
responding at the beginning of treatment.
