Hello all...and Lynn....yes, I'm with you...always really cold except
when in the hot bath, where I hang out alot. I'm convinced it's due to
gleevec. Other than being cold, I feel great with few side effects from
the drug. It would probably help if I didn't live in Alaska. I drink
hot tea throughout the day, wear longjohns, cuddle with my dogs and
heating pad, etc. When I exercise, skiing or walking, I do feel warm so
I do try stay active. But when I work up a sweat outside and then get
chilled, I'm worse off. Even get the chatters. So, the right clothing
is key. Also, I'm suffering from severe cabin fever. This is alway a
restless time of year for me, cold and low light levels and too much
rain and ice...and isolation. I'm trying a new approach...next week
I'm returning to full time work after a year off. I'm hoping that a
busy, active and challenging workday will get my mind off of being cold
and depressed. And the extra money wont hurt either. I'm hoping that my
energy level can handle re-entering the work world. And, if I make some
extra money, my first treat will be a HOT TUB. Anyway, nice to know that
I'm not alone. And always appreciating tips from others. But I feel
odd complaining about the shivers because, after all, what's a little
chill compared to so many of the challenges that many in our 'cml
family' experience. Sending prayers for good health and peace to you
all, especially to those brave warriors who must face other options.
This forum warms my heart daily. Betsy in Homer Alaska
