You're right, I was really addressing the folks whose doctors are not following protocol. I keep hearing about doctors who completely stop doing BMBs! There are a bunch of docs out there who apparently don't understand the situation, because people are always writing in about only doing blood tests (no BMBs) or stopping Gleevec all together. I hope everyone is able to find a doctor who will keep up with the right combo of tests and use the medicines correctly. Certainly Dr. Druker is one of those! It is interesting that he recommends every other year BMBs for you now. Personally, I have had trisomy 8's pop up (and disappear), so doubt if that frequency would be advised for me; probably will be on the every year plan for awhile. Hope the good Dr. D. is doing well - thank heavens for him!
