You should still not eat the grapefruits, even after 8 hours.  The
problem is not with absorption of gleevec into the bloodstream, but
with the metabolism of gleevec.  Grapefruit juice, sections, extracts,
etc. can cause elevation of the Gleevec in the bloodstream by
inhibiting its metabolism.  Everyone's body handles drugs differently,
but I have given grapefruit up completely.  Not happily mind you, it
has always been a favorite.  But, it's a small price of admission....
