Hi Suzan
I know what you mean about small veins. I'm sure that they use a butterfly
needle on you too. It's nice to have good lab techs. I always drink plenty of
water, and Jake tells me to pray a lot before I come in....it usually
works....Take care...Millie

I have only one arm they can use to draw blood also. I'm lucky that
the lab tech Sam does a wonderful job. I ask her to not dig I would rather be
stuck a second time just a little higher or lower and she always manage to get
something. She is the only one who will draw my blood there because I have
really small veins. The one thing I do though is I read her jokes from the
readers digest and she really likes it. I had moved away for 2 years and I had
forgot about that and the first thing she said was where's my jokes from the
readers digest. It makes it less painful to me when I am distracted.
        Suzan

I get stuck about every six weeks and it isn't fun as they can only
use one of my arms, and that isn't doing so well. It's been stuck way to many
times in the past 15 years. I have a wonderful lab tech, Jake, and he usually
finds something. He says I'm wonderful as I don't complain. It certainly does
hurt when they have to dig for blood. I go on Friday and this will be the big
one for the Philadelphia Chromosomes (T cells). On Gleevec I got down to 1,
but that's as low as I ever got. I'm hoping for the best this time. Wish me
luck. I will try to let you know how it goes. I will try to remember to ask
for a print out of my blood work. I never pay any attention to it.

          Best wishes to everyone....Millie

            Great SusieQ!
Those labs can be scary at times.
Last week, the nurse was getting my blood and it was hurting; she
was moving the needle all around and she looks at me and ask me if it's hurting.
I told her sometimes it hurts like mad and sometimes, the nurse
just goes in and gets the blood, no problem.
I think some nurses are more adept at getting the blood than others.
            Good luck and blessings,
            Jeanie<3
