It is essential that one find a doctor with the proper attitude who not only pays attention to your condition and your labwork but, very importantly, to your concerns. If your doctor won't listen to you closely, or is too busy and blows you off, it is extremely important to find another doctor. I am on the Novartis Gleevec study, have been on it since February of 2000, and found a way to change doctors when the original one proved unsatisfactory in several important ways. I know it's difficult, when one is worried and can't get any quality information about what is going on, but it's important to compartmentalize: on one side, you're the patient; on the other, you're your own advocate. Courage! Determination! Accept no nonsense! Vivi
