It is essential that one find a doctor with the proper attitude who not
only pays attention to your condition and your labwork but, very
importantly, to your concerns.  If your  doctor won't listen to you closely,
or is too busy and blows you off, it is extremely important to find another
doctor.  I am on the Novartis Gleevec study, have been on it since February
of 2000, and found a way to change doctors when the original one proved
unsatisfactory in several important ways.
I know it's difficult, when one is worried and can't get any quality
information about what is going on, but it's important to compartmentalize:
on one side, you're the patient; on the other, you're your own advocate.
Courage!  Determination!  Accept no nonsense!
