[CMS-PIPELINES] address command returns -3 when executing pipe

Hi guys,
I am executing the following pipe by itself and works fine.

headrec = 'CREATED DATE:'newcrdate  

 'pipe (sep ! endchar ?)',      
   '! LITERAL ' headrec ,       
   '! > 'thishost' COMPDAT  A'  

but executing it with address command get a rc -3

Why is that?
