Basically I could compile and transform the zlib source with no modification at all (but there are some quirks with the autoconf things). There's some 300 odd lines of PL/j to make the pipeline filter package and do the ABI linkage and wrappers around CMSSTOR macros. The zlib source delivered 25,000 lines of assembler input.
