Is anyone using QCMU? I'm afraid that the package isn't that well
documented, and as a result I haven't been able to figure out how to
use it.

I've gotten as far as

% ./qcmu
qcmu: lisp listener socket: Connection refused

(I'm testing this on a PPC machine, which from the CMUCL docs will
eventually cause me to run in to trouble, but I think right now the
trouble is more conceptual.)

BTW, what I want to do with this program is described at

 http://planetx.cc.vt.edu/AsteroidMeta/MUSN

As noted there, I started asking questions about this on UseNet in
June of 2006 (comp.lang.lisp, "Multiuser Lisp Server?"). But I got
stalled out due to motivational issues shortly thereafter.

Now that I've thought more about the problem I see that it ought to be
very simple, and I'm pretty intent on hammering away at the problem
until it is finished.

Any help with QCMU or otherwise would be appreciated.

PS. I was looking over the recent thread mentioned in parentheses in
the subject line -- I too am interested in attaching to running CMUCL
processes. I'd be curious to know whether Denis Papathanasiou was
satisfied by the lispserver info (if he's reading this).

PPS. Craig Ludington's offer for help with Swank might be a good way
to go if somehow QCMU proves impossible.
