A) make sure the engine is up to temperature before attempting to pump out the 
old oil. If you are still in the water this is not an issue. If already on the 
hard, you will need to find a way to run fresh water through the system as it 
comes up to temperature

B) buy / borrow one if the  12v oil changing pump / buckets. I never had any 
success with the vacuum hand pump types

C) make up a hose that will allow you to extend the raw water intake from the 
seacock into the containers of pink stuff. After changing the oil, run the 
engine briefly to suck a gallon or so pink stuff through. (Others may comment 
on whether this is enough to properly winterized the vernalift muffler (I don't 
have a means of draining the vernalift but assume that 2 gallons of pink stuff 
is enough - at least in New England)
