I replaced my A-4 with a Beta 37.5 hp which is a 4 cylinder engine. I put 1100 hrs on it with 2 trips south to the Bahamas and Florida from the Chesapeake. Pulled the old engine and did the change over to diesel and instalation myself. Get engine and the folks at the North Carolina distribution center are outstanding - especially Ferron.

It's also shipped with Westerbeke's and Universal diesels, but it's a loose part, not mounted on the engine and plumbed to the oil pan as it is on the Betas. I have a Westerbeke, but I don't know anyone who has a Beta that doesn't swear by it, And when I was repowering a couple of years ago, the 4 cyl 32/35 hp Beta (I can't recall which) was about $1700 less than a 3 cyl 30 hp Yanmar. He could easily remote the oil filter for ease in changing it, and he got the oil change pump option, as well. He said the price was several thousand less than going with a Yanmar; and he gets parts at Kubota tractor shops.
