I have had experience with Interprotect on 2 different boats.

The first was a 1974 Viking 28. I stripped the bottom of this boat to gel
coat when I bought it and did 5 coats of Interprotect. I also had the iron
keel sand blasted and put Interprotect on the keel at the same time. I sold
the boat 13 years later and the hull was in perfect condition with no
peeling, crazing .... Also the keel never suffered from any rust through in
13 years. The trick is to get the first coat of Interprotect on the iron
keel within a couple of hours of the sandblasting.

My current boat is a 29-2 bought in 2012. I am stripping the builtup
ablative paint and have discovered that there is Interprotect barrier epoxy
under all the paint. Interlux suggested that I apply another 2 coats of
Interprotect over this to "freshen it up, replace any that I sand off and
give the VC17 a fresh surface to bond to". I do not know when the
Interprotect was done on this boat but based on the number of layers of
bottom paint it was quite a few years ago. The bottom shows no signs of
crazing or peeling of the Interprotect.

My experience is that this is an excellent product and I strongly recommend
it.

By the way, the 29-2 was a salt water boat until I bought it and it is now a
fresh water boat.

The Viking 28 was a fresh water boat - Lake Ontario
