Nooooo...don't do it.

We used the faux teak and holly on Jubilee (our 35 MK 1) as an upgrade from the fiberglass sole and it was great for that - http://sailjubilee.com/graphic9.html But it is definitely not good for the real deal sole you have on the Enterprise.

If you can't get the spots out like Joel suggested, then this is the only solution I can think of - http://www.marine-plywood.us/teakandholly.htm thought you might be able to get sections smaller than 4x8 at a local boat yard. We have a section of the Sole from Alera in our woodshop that Lynn is refinishing and I checked the measurement to make sure that the stripe width sizes match. They do...

Of course, if you want to right over the top, then you can avoid any future veneer issues and redo the entire sole with this stuff - http://www.island-teak.com/interior-decking.php :D

Subject: Stus-List Teak/Holly Floors on a C&C 37+

Listers,

There are a few sections of the cabin's teak/holly flooring in the Enterprise that have dark blotches to the point where you can't even see the holly stripes. One person suggested sanding it down and revarnishing, but in looking at the edges, I don't think the holly goes all the way down -- so any sanding I do may take it away completely (in fact, I'm wondering if the dark sections I'm seeing is because it's worn down past the holly stripes.)

Does anyone have any insight into this and suggestions?

Also, is anyone aware of this product? (http://www.welcome-aboard.com/prodinfo.asp?number=THS&aitem=1&mitem=1) which could possibly be used to resurface the flooring?

        All the best,

        Edd
