Do you have the web site for the DAX handles?

Well I’ll tell you what you can do to break it, go out in 22 - 28 kts of wind,
Pop a spinnaker, go into a death roll and subsequently crash jibe, catching the
main sheet on the winch handle.

I did this with one of the DAX handles last August, and the image of it bowed
down 30 degrees is burned into my memory, and it still didn’t break. There are
grooves of the rope burned into the handle.

We used it the next race, but there were some ball bearings missing, and the
handle popped off – didn’t lose the handle, so I sent it back to Don and asked
if he could replace the bearings and offered to pay, as it was obviously my
fault. He gave me a new handle and asked if he could use the old one on his
web site. (Not there yet, He still hasn’t revamped his old site)

This makes my fourth DAX, one went over the side, and this damaged one. Best
handles I have ever had. One Caveat, these and the Lewmars won’t fit into the
plastic Lewmar winch handle pockets very well. I just replaced those with a
couple Starboard holders from DAX, excellent quality.

I have 3 of these Titan winch handles as well as the usual assortment of SS
metal ones. I prefer the Titans.

I know several other sailors with bigger boats that use them and have yet to
see one break. I can't imagine what I could do to one to break it.

Are they sturdy enough to strap the genny in tight and not break?

I have one of these:

<http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_11151_10001_11120_-1?ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=11120&cid=sc_googlepla&device=c&network=g&matchtype=&gclid=COjloYyM8bcCFVIV7AodbB0AuA#.UcImoOfVCSo>

&ci_sku=11120&cid=sc_googlepla&device=c&network=g&matchtype=&gclid=COjloYyM8bcCFVIV7AodbB0AuA#.UcImoOfVCSo

It floats, it locks, it's red and it doesn't chip the gelcoat when dropped.
