the c&c custom plant used aircraft aluminium for shrouds ,related bolts,mast steps,rudder mainframes,rudder posts,stem fittings,aft spinnaker attachment points,goosenecks,spinnaker pole ends,plus many other items...have stood the test of time....from early 60s as bruckmann mfg. to c&ccustom back to bruckmann 2013....my 42...absolutely no problems after 46years hard racing &long distance cruising....the type of aluminum employed is the key.....a note ..morch marine belleville ontario was aircraft parts supplier as well as one of original c&c founding companies...AMAZING GRACE ...PHANTOM all five of them..INFERNO 54..CONDOR 41 &TIDEWATER 41 both custom redline s all have aluminum employed everwhere possible...anyone who believes aluminum is poor material should look further especially to aircraft industry..the difference between boats same hull model built niagara on lake ..& bruickmann varied as much as 1600 lbs....both have stood up equally well..........so much for facts........
