Neil, when they check the rig, make sure they inspect the tie bars that go thru 
the mast that the rod ends connect to.  If those rod ends don't move freely, 
the rod ends up having a coat hanger effect.  Ie, bend it too many times,and it 
breaks.  Ouch!

PS And for reasons of what happened to Neil is why is ALWAYS check the jack 
stands of boats either side of me from time to time.  You cannot believe how 
loose I have found some!

ps ? Got a sad call last week from BoatUS.  Apparently the boat next to me fell 
over onto my boat (insured by BoatUS) so they called me.  Marina ? not a word.  
I am also BoatUS and since the other boat fell across my head stay and damaged 
at least the roller furling foil, they are going to cover an inspection of the 
rod rigging.  2 points BoatUS, 0 points marina (they hadn?t sued the proper 
number of stands under the other boat.
