I made my own pre-feeder from a couple of scraps of starboard that pinch
together via a screw and wingnut. It took a little experimenting to get
the shape of the jaws right, but it wasn't that hard, works well, and it
was my favorite price. (free)

the RF down to drum level (this involved removing the feeder starter on

When running the non furling sail we would attach tack to the hook below
the RF and use the prefeeder on the cord.
This may sound confusing but it allowed us to have full hoist sails when
not using RF and not to be forced to use a shackle on a drunm for tack
attachment. The RF sail was basically just a delivery or day sail.
