Serge did the new forestay, furler and halyard install on my 27. Very happy
with the results.

Bill Brekelman (Roving Bosuns) did the new lifelines. Not so impressed ... one
side seems to be a wee bit short ... he dropped a clevis pin overboard and
couldn’t finish the install in the same visit (why no spares??) and I had to
track him down and pick up the missing part rather than he delivering it to me
... and he didn’t put the locking nuts on two turnbuckles. Unfortunately I had
gotten so busy at the time ... I didn’t take as good a look at everything that
I should have before paying the invoice.

Blackline was asked (in writing via their form) for a quote on the lifelines
the previous summer ... and they never did deliver one to me or contact me on
the subject. Now the boat was at Canoe Cove at the time and then was moved ...
but I phoned and left a message telling them where the boat was.

As for Delta .... Rui did the initial inspection of the old furler about this
time last year, but shortly after that dropped off the face of the earth and
would not return phone calls or emails. Not sure if something happened to him
or not ... but I was not impressed.

On a related note, I haven’t been paying too much attention, so it may have
been a while ago, but it appears Delta has the mast crane fixed now at
Westport. It was damaged in the summer due to ‘operator error’ and had to be
rebuilt.

I agree with Jim and the others regarding Blanshard Rigging. He did my
neighbour's gang (including new furler) and the service looked substandard.

I had Serge, Mainstay rigging, do mine a bunch of years ago and the service &
price was top notch.

Delta took over from Jon Blanshard at that location, looks like Jon has set
up Blanshard Rigging on Hornby.

I was also seriously unimpressed with Delta, for a couple of reasons. They
are under new ownership now, so maybe things have changed for the better. I
wouldn't count on it. They are still primarily a big powerboat yard.
