Hi Barbara,
Depending how deep your 'dinks' are you can just sand them off and make 'em
go away.. I did that last year as per my pro's advice. The gelcoat
repairs seldom match and typically fade in a different way / shade than
the original.
I used a small palm sander and carefully wet sanded with 320 grit to get it
in the ballpark then smoothed it off with 600-800-1200 grit (All wet
sanded) followed by a fine compound and wax.. The gelcoat is little
thinner but the scratches were "erased" completely..
