I have noticed last year when my GPS antena shorted out and I went to my phone based software (navionics) that it did not show bouys that I knew were there unless I zoomed in. The NOAA charts when converted to electronic at least show a fot or something. You may have to zoom in to see what it is but you have a clue. The radtor chart on my phone still failed yo tell me about the bouy that was pretty darn close.
It was Lake St. Clair and I knew about the bouy but it made me wonder about being in unfamiliar waters. Then Tean Vestes....now I really am nervous about just electronic navigation in unfamiliar waters.
