The sticky but working MHU might be repairable. There are kits available:

The bearings are available separately, NMB DDR-830ZZRA1P25LY121. The ID ( shaft ) is 3 mm, the outside diameter is 8 mm, no flange. You can see the bearing by removing the wind cups. Note, if you remove the wind vane you may have to recalibrate it later. No requirement with the cups. I did attempt cleaning the bearings from a MHU that was in not too bad shape. It would spin but not completely freely. Even after soaking and blasting through with electronics cleaner and such the bearings were still poor. Michael Brown Windburn C&C 30-1
