This would be a hard thing for the crew to deal with though and indeed sad news. I will note also that David had a situation of his own during a prior race where a crew member became incapicated and the other crew, his son and another young man, were on constant watch with the striken crew member. He had to abandon but headed to Bermuda. I imagine offshore racing to be stressful enough without these unexpected and rare events. Here's to David and other boats finishing without further incident.
