Spent a lot of time rowing a 9' Whaler years ago. Ours had the pram shape, square front end and very round cross section. My brother and I would go bar hopping in it around the marina on Friday afternoons. When I later chose a proper dinghy, I he wanted me to take the Whaler, but I went for a much more stable inflatable that can be stowed fully inflated on the foredeck. The Whaler is unsinkable, but don't sit on the gunnel.
Guess a RIB would be the best of both worlds?
