Listers, One of my near-future projects on the Enterprise is to replace the refrigeration unit which broke some years ago. The one I have appears to be two pieces - a panel/basket in the ice chest and a compressor in the aft cabin hanging locker. I have no idea if it is water cooled or air cooled (I can’t see any through hull lines or any venting) and, since I know nothing about it, did not want to pull the old one out in fears of turning the boat into a liquid asset.
So: 1. Is it safe to pull out the old unit while the boat is in the water? and 2. Can anyone recommend a good replacement unit that will keep the chest cool? All the best, Edd Edd M.
