It is not a big job and most the the time you can re-use the gasket.First
remove the exhaust hose while the mixing elbo is still on the engine. A heat
gun and gloves will help. Then remove the water injection hose then the elbow.
They do clog and can be cleaned a few times before replacement.  Sorry, I do
not know the tolerances.
I have cleaned mine twice on my 3GM30 that has 1000 hours on it.

Definitely low or no water flow. Drilling out the water injection elbow
that connects to the exhaust elbow might buy you some time.

Sounds like a partially plugged mixing elbow, or maybe something blocking
thr raw water someplace. Could also be a bad impeller.

This just started happening this weekend.  When first started and idling the
exhaust is noisy - like an open exhaust, maybe no water.  Run it for a bit at
higher rpm, and suddenly it quiets down and sounds normal.  Next cold start,
same thing.  Did a quick check of the raw water strainer underway,  and there
was some stuff in there, but water was being sucked through.     Is the mixing
elbow clogging?    Haven't had that off yet...  Thanks
