Tom, which pump did you buy? I am in the same situation as you and Michael Brown – little room for a pump (30-1). Water collects down there and helps soften the mast step, which is not good. I managed to get a small Rule pump in the sump when the mast was out - which is working OK (with a check valve in the area immediately aft of the mast). But…. I think the pump has broken loose from its mount and is not emptying the sump completely.
So, I want to supplement what I have with a self-priming one I can put under the dinette seat and keep the area dry. The Wale Gulper 320 looks good, but I was wondering if there are others.
