Sure.
I don’t trust ANY kind of non-marine gear to hold up in extreme circumstances. 
I would never ever want to be in position where a phone or tablet was my only 
way to navigate. That said, I have phone anyway to make phone calls and the 
iPad as an old one I got for free, so no reason not to have some fun with them ☺

Blame the navigator, not the tools... and if the navigator is a tool then it 
still gets the blame.

At the risk of sounding like a techno-peasant, is the iNav another apple 
thingy? I'm still stuck on OpenCPN  or  Visual Navigator (without a dongle) on 
an XP box .
